Dell CatherallAt age 6 Dell enrolled in ballet and dreamed of becoming the Canadian Anna Pavlova. Unfortunately, lack of the necessary physicality and talent made this impossible. Instead she was honoured to be accepted as one of Grace Macdonald's dancers. Under her expert tutelage, Dell became an enthusiastic member of the B.C. Lion's Cheerleadering squad and a performer in a number of MUSSOC productions.
At age forty-five, seeking refuge from the rigours of raising a family and teaching high school, Dell bought her first pair of tap shoes and joined Jan Kainer and her illustrious dancers. Over the past eighteen years the experiences have been unbelievable: performing yearly at the Kitsilano Showboat; garnering medals and trophies at local and international festivals; time-stepping on wooden suitcases in Germany; shuffling off to Broadway and the Tap City festival in New York with life-size puppet men; wearing everything from sequins and top hats to false noses and basketball uniforms.
Dell firmly believes that, "To Dance is to Live and to Live is To Dance!"
